Laboratory for Verification and Validation (LVV) – Funding Awarded to a Team Led by Engineering Nonlinearity Deputy Principal Investigator Prof. Keith Worden
Prof. Keith Worden – ENL Deputy PI, leads a team which has secured five years’-worth of funding from March 2016 from the EPSRC for the “Structural Dynamics Laboratory for Verification and Validation (LVV) Across Scales and Environments”. This will build on a lot of the outcomes from the ENL Programme Grant.
The Laboratory for Verification and Validation (LVV) will create a world-leading facility for the testing of large engineering structures under real life vibration conditions. This facility, capitalising upon the University of Sheffield’s globally recognised expertise in this field, will offer radical improvement in product design, operation and lifetime for engineering structures in many sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical engineering, civil engineering and energy.
Located on the AMP2, as a flagship facility within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District, it will be accessible to engineering SMEs, large enterprises and will attract inward investment.
