The ENL Project’s half-yearly meeting took place at the University of Swansea on 12 and 13 January 2015.
The well-attended conference started with an overview of the project so far led by local host Professor Mike Friswell and Principal Investigator Professor David Wagg. There followed a keynote lecture by Professor Sondipon Adhikari, of Swansea University, on “Spectral function approach for stochastic structural dynamics.”
The day then continued with presentations from each of the project’s academic partners on the significant developments made across the five thematic areas.
The second day saw an industrial presentation from one of the project’s partners, Dr. Rajab Said, of ESI, who spoke about, “The Journey from Analysis to Virtual Prototyping.” There followed an opportunity forPhD students and researchers to provide a quick-fire three minute elevator pitch and a present a poster.
The meeting gave everyone involved in the EPSRC funded project a chance to discuss and debate progress and developments. The annual meeting will take place in Bristol from 8 to 10 June 2015.
